The Modus Operandi of Tadalafil

Cialis works by enhancing the blood flow to the penis after 1 hour of consumption. An erection is achieved as you’re sexually stimulated. The sexual stimulation increases the levels of nitric oxide in your body which help you achieve an orgasm and perform sexual intercourse with your partner.

Tadalafil falls under the same group of drugs (as Viagra) which are known as PDE 5 inhibitors. The effect of this pill stays for up to 36 hours. This is the reason why it is known as ‘The Weekend Pill’. So, if you’re in for some good time with your partner, pop in this pill on a Friday night and you’re good to go on Sunday as well. But there are certain side effects that come along with this medicine. These are discussed in the next section.

The Unwanted Aftermath – Side Effects of Cialis

Tadalafil is known to cause some minor side effects such as headaches, nausea, flushing, diarrhea, stuffy nose, back pain and abnormal ejaculation.

In some rare cases, a sudden decreased vision which can cause permanent blindness in one or both the eyes can occur. It is known as NAION (Non-arteritic Anterior Ischemic Optic Neuropathy) and it happens as a loss of blood flow to the optic nerve.

If your erection lasts for more than four hours (known as Priapism), rush to the doctor immediately as it can permanently damage your penis.
